New erotica imprint open for submissions!

KHP Publishers Inc. is launching a new erotic romance imprint, Scarlet Petals Press. We’re currently open for submissions and will remain open until we feel a sufficient number of submissions have been received.

• Romantic Erotica

• Contemporary (Men in uniform, bad boys, friends with benefits)

• Gay & Lesbian

• Menage

• Paranormal/Urban Fantasy (Weres, vampires and witches only, please.)

• Historical/Cowboy

• Fairy Tale (Modern setting only, please.)

Please use acceptable manuscript formatting (double-space with one-inch margins) and Times New Roman 12 point font. Please include if your story is part of a larger series, how much has been written and what your projected series length is. Also include your contact information (real contact for records/payment purposes – to be kept private – plus writing name, address, email, and phone number).

Send your submission to with a synopsis in the body of the email, and the actual manuscript attached in .doc format. Let us know if you have any questions before submitting.

KHP Publishers, Inc. and all of its imprints publish only ebooks at this time. Payment is 50% net royalties – no advance – paid on a quarterly basis.

Simultaneous submissions are okay. Response time will vary, but expect to receive a response in 1-4 weeks. Please do not send follow-up emails unless you place the book before you have received a response from us. Your book must be unpublished at the time of submission. Please do not send books in series that have already been launched by another publisher or that you are self-publishing. We will consider reprints, but only if your book has been out of print for several years or you have a large body of work.

  1. It excites me to submit something to Scarlet Petal and its imprints — they call writers who write gay sex unprofessional but I know how hot the erotica market is right now. I love that you have an impressive publishing history to back up what you say. Fuck those homophobic assholes. They are a bunch of cocksuckers with no publishing sense. Are you taking gay BDSM specifically? I write transgressive gay BDSM under my pseudonym Lloyd Phillip Campbell.

  2. I have gone from dabbling with YAOI and slash fiction to becoming fully immersed in it. I was writing Lovecraftian themed pieces, but lets be honest that is nothing but HP fanfiction. I don’t want people to think I am a Lovecraft wannabe, that’s retarted!

  3. I’m very excited Lloyd Phillip Campbell is returning to write gay erotica. He’s hinted at his love of sparkly vampires, so I bet we’ll see one big group hug.

  4. Try and stop me! I will be featuring a new race of unicorns that are all male and black because of their gothic nature. In this go around, their horns are um…well let’s just say if they had any shame they’d be wearing underwear on their foreheads!

After I feature them in their own series, I’d like to try some fanfiction where I incorporate them into the Twilight universe. I’m hoping Stephanie Meyers will work with me on this.

  5. Nice to see you here, Nickolaus! I’m gratified that my prayers for your recovery from your former social challenges are working! There’s still work to do yet, tough. I spoke recently again with my friend in Baltimore, and we’re both very disappointed that your book sales are not yet quite sufficient to activate your Ticket to Work so you can get out from under that heinously liberal program from whom you are obliged to accept funds. We are keeping a close eye on things, though, and both have high hopes, as I am sure you yourself do, that you will soon be making enough from your publishing company to free you from the bondage of the Social Security Disability system. Won’t be long; hang in there, my brother in Christ.

  6. I’m really glad Nickolaus has finally come to the grips that he’s totally and hopelessly gay. Maybe the world will be a better place? LOL

Anyways I have to keep in mind of this place.
